Leathersmith of London: music case and notebooks

Music cases make good bags to carry your files and other papers, also handy for your iPad, pittabread sandwich for lunch, and other good, flat things.  How about this one by Leathersmith of London, shown here in red, but also available in duck egg blue, tan and black (prices start at £145).

Diary from the Azure series in embossed leather (£45)

Leathersmith has been making leatherbound books since 1839, and the Azure series of notebooks and diaries have been made since 1928 - all have the fine blue paper which gives the series its name.

My daughters' tootling on the recorder hardly justify splashing out on music bags, but these are nice - and could be used as work bags, if only for flat-ish things.

The one I want is Mimi's Beau, new for AW10 and inspired by a music bag, and costs a lot more than I can find in the girls' piggy banks (even though the going rate for the Tooth Fairy is £1 per tooth; there has been massive inflation since the 1970s). £360.
